History, as the Italian historian Enzo Traverso says, operates in a dual way: on the one hand, as a « field of experience » (past), and on the other as a « horizon of anticipation » (future).

This second dimension of history in the last decades - and especially after the fall of the Wall - has been resolutely dull, blurring vision for the future after capitalism.
